Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Naturopathy and how can it help me?
Naturopathy is a medical science that approaches the body, its systems, and its diseases differently from modern medicine. As a result of different perspective and philosophy, natural medicine disciplines such as Naturopathy can offer more effective therapies for the body, mind and spirit of whole person, to help overcome difficulties.

Naturopathy is benefiting from modern biomedical science, as properly designed, impartial modern science is validating many ancient theories and remedies.

What about Iridology, Nutrition, and the other disciplines practised at Helping Nature Heal?
These are all natural medicine disciplines that complement the practise of naturopathy. Iridology is a broadening field of study (supported by extensive history of clinial observation) which aids the naturopath in analysis of the body. Iridology is an adjunct to the "wholistic" body analysis employed by naturopathy; it can reveal additional information that is otherwise not obtainable. Nutrition is the most important medical science, as air is the only requirement of the body that does not get eaten, and diet and digestion are considered by naturopathy to be the cause of more disease than any other bodily system.

Do natural/complementary/alternative therapies have a place in modern healthcare?
It already has a place - the vast majority of drugs prescribed by doctors are either derived from natural substances or have roots in traditional knowledge. Natural medicine practitioners can treat many conditions much more successfully, because of the different perspective - doctors ask for symptoms, but a naturopath asks why the symptoms are occurring, and if they are related to one another, and seeks to treat the cause. Ideally; diet, lifestyle and short-term herbal remedies would be the only prescription you would recieve: however with the declining quality of our food and the reduced time we have to consider what we eat, long-term supplementation is becoming an unfortunate necessity.

Should I see a Naturopath instead of a Medical Doctor (General Practitioner)?
Your naturopath is not a "doctor-replacement", but more like a specialist who is referred to, in order to utilise their training in other areas of health care. Only the unethical, unprofessional practitioner of a complementary health discipline will tell you to abandon your doctor.

Likewise doctors are not "naturopath-replacements" as they lack adequate training in the areas of naturopathy. The modern medical approach simply does not understand natural medicine disciplines: the unfortunate proof being the increasing prevalence of adverse medical outcomes caused by doctors' mal-practise of acupuncture, massage, and in prescribing herbal remedies.
