Fountain of Youth - Wonder Nutrient: Coenzyme Q-10...
and it has clinically proven benefits!
by Ann Vlass

If you keep up with the latest heath news and research, you have probably been hearing more and more exciting updates about the benefits of an antioxidant with the abbreviated name CoQ-10. Recent research has linked this nutrient with looking younger, energy, reduction of muscle damage, weight loss, heart health, prevention of gum disease, enhanced sperm count (if you're male of course), reduced blood pressure, improved circulation (even to your brain), reduced cholesterol, strengthened immune systems, the ability to heal gastric ulcers and to make your skin look and feel great. The list is incredible. It also only takes a few small capsules everyday to give you these benefits. You can now start to see why there is so much excitement about this supplement.

Coenzyme Q-10 (also known as CoQ-10, Q-10, vitamin Q-10, ubiquinone, or ubidecarenone) is a naturally occurring substance in the body. It is a powerful antioxidant and is an essential coenzyme in the process of energy production. It speeds up reactions in the body and is present in every cell in the body, so you can imagine how useful this nutrient is in treating many common health problems. There is a whole list of benefits.

CoQ-10 produces energy needed for cell growth and maintenance by acting as a catalyst in many chemical reactions that lead to the production of energy (ATP). The human stores enough ATP to sustain vigorous activity for 5 to 8 minutes. In order to produce more ATP in each cell, CoQ-10 is required. The largest amounts of CoQ-10 in our bodies are found in tissues that have the highest energy requirements such as the heart, liver, kidneys and pancreas. It will help you to recover from muscle fatigue and feel less tired.

Remember the way we used to buzz around when we were children? We can thank CoQ-10 for that. While the body manufactures CoQ-10 throughout our life, our capacity to produce it declines after the age of 30, and seems to be at its peek in our teens. This is why supplementation is so useful.
